For my 41st birthday I decided I wanted a very pretty rainbow themed afternoon tea. So I made it happen in my dining room.

Of course it was a good excuse to buy a cute rainbow teapot and use all my platters too!

I got some delicious macarons from Crow Kitchen in all the colours of the rainbow, spent hours making rainbow jellies, baked salted caramel cupcakes to decorate with rainbows and sprinkles, created a rainbow fruit platter and enlisted my MIL to make scones and sausage rolls.
To brighten up the whole table I created a rainbow centrepiece with mini vases of different coloured flowers. I had collected all the vases for our wedding and also used them for our parents’ joint Ruby wedding anniversary so it was nice to use them all together again.

(The Christmas decorations were still up as my birthday is before New Year!)
