ABOUT BEX
HELLO!

I’m Bex and I’m a collector.
Of experiences and things. My collections make me happy, whether it’s my clothes, vintage glassware or jewellery or my collection of memories catalogued in a gazillion photos of trips and adventures with my family.
Fortunately I married a minimalist who keeps me in check most of the time. But I get away with as many rainbow collections as I can πβ
I have FAR too many hobbies and I often go through phases of what interests me at the time. My most enduring interests are photography, reading, food and writing.
βI live in the Sussex countryside with my husband and boy/girl twins.
I’m a part-time dentist and an award-winning professional photographer specialising in brand photography.
I love to write and having a blog helps me to keep life interesting!
How it all Began
I first started blogging back in 2010 with my lifestyle blog, Olive Dragonfly. It started off being all about our wedding planning and then expanded to everything I love – fashion, food, travel…
I documented our very raw IVF journey and when the twins came along, the blog limped along for a while before I switched my energies to my photography business. BUT, I missed it and life has changed, so I’m back with Bex In Colour to scratch the writing itch.
I hope you enjoy reading!

Bex In Colour is about exploring life in full colour π
Fitness, food, reading, style, home, travel & everything in between. I plan to share recipes and reviews, DIY projects, recommendations and just general updates about our adventures, locally here in Sussex and afar when we travel. We hope to move home soon and will document the process and the decoration of our new house.
The Bex Edit is my personal directory of brands I love and recommend. They do not pay to be featured.Β This blog is a hobby but I will always be clear about any affiliate links I share and you will always receive my honest opinion about everything here.
Join the journey of vibrant living!
My Photography
I caught the photography bug during my round the world trip as a student back in 2004, that experience of travelling solo, making friends out of strangers and exploring amazing places is something that will never leave me.
My skills have evolved a lot over the years, from my beginnings as a landscape & nature photographer in Scotland in 2005 to photographing families and brands here in East Sussex. But my style has remained the same with a colourful vibe and rich tones (although I do love a good black & white edit too!)β
Since 2021, I’ve specialised in branding photography.β
I’m known for my vibrant editing style with a rich, impactful look. I love contrast and dramatic lighting and am always playing with food photography.β

The Interesting Bits

Family Life
We’re an adventurous bunch and love to have fun at local family-friendly festivals and events. (Although we do also love a cosy Sunday snuggled up with a film!)β
I really struggled with loneliness and post-natal depression when we moved here. I started a few charity photography projects as a result and have raised over Β£2500 for charities including Young Minds and Rainbow Trust.
I just wanted to share some of my personal favourite photos here too π
